The Chamber’s Ambassadors make personal visits to
Chamber members throughout the year, gathering feedback
on services and programs. This committee of mostly
retired members attends ribbon cuttings and grand
openings.

This committee, which meets for lunch monthly, promotes
aviation in Norman and Max Westheimer Airport as a
valuable resource for the community and Norman’s
economic development.

Lisa O'Donnell, Republic Bank & Trust
This committee works to forge cooperative relationships
between the local business community and arts and
humanities organizations. They sponsor a luncheon in the
fall to honor area artisans and coordinate the “On My Own Time” Employee Art Show.
The committee also sponsors a matching grant program in
the spring and fall.

This committee links businesses with education by
promoting businesses’ support and recognition for Norman
educators. Group projects include Salute Our Schools
teacher appreciation, Partners in Education, and honoring area Teachers of the Year.

This committee connects Norman businesses and social
service organizations in a mutually beneficial way.
Projects include a bi-annual social services impact
survey and a
social services staff recognition luncheon. In addition
the committee runs articles in the Norman Business
Journal to help employers find help for employees in
need.

INDUSTRY COUNCIL -

Sandra Longcrier, OG&E Electric Services
This council is a project of the Norman and Moore
Chambers of Commerce and Moore Norman Technology Center.
CCBIC provides forums for representatives from area
manufacturers, processors and related firms to network
and to gain information about issues, legislation and
services relevant to their businesses. The council meets
for breakfast in odd numbered months at Moore Norman
Technology Center.

Walt Terrell, Keller-Williams Realty
This committee oversees the Crime Stoppers program for
Norman and actively works to improve the success rate of
the program. In addition, this committee coordinates the
annual Public Safety Awards and sponsors the John Dutch
and Steve Cain Memorial Scholarships.

This committee acts as a liaison between the Norman
business community and Tinker Air Force Base and the OU
ROTC programs. The committee also coordinates the annual
ROTC Awards Ceremony.

This committee works to initiate a coordinated effort
among merchants to promote Norman as a major shopping
area. Projects include the Shop Norman! Campaign and Tax-Free Weekend.

This committee monitors transportation issues relevant
to the Norman community and provides related information
to members through public forums and the Norman Business
Journal. The committee also serves as a forum for
interaction of representatives from various local
entities involved in transportation.
